CoCA Artists are excited to be back for our 13th year of Open Studios! We’ve been inviting visitors into our studios since 2010, and this year we have 41 exceptional artists in 23 locations for your enjoyment.

Once again, we offer artwork for sale through our Open Studios tour. We welcome 7 new artists to our CoCA OS family.

Many of us will continue to show outdoors or in our garages to accommodate safe distancing.  Mask wearing is optional at the time of printing our brochure, but please follow the current county guidelines.  Also, be considerate of our artists if they have “masks required” posted.

Check back here for updates and any changes that might occur. Coming soon: a listing of participating artists along with a 2022 brochure to download.

We also use our mailing list to announce CoCA events. Sign up on our Contact page if you are interested in being on that list.

PASSPORTS ARE BACK!
Win an original work of art.  Visit at least 7 participating studios on Nov. 12 and 13 to qualify for the drawing which will be held the week after Open Studios.  Turn in your passport to the last studio visited. Winners will be contacted by the individual artists to arrange for pickup.

Thank you for your continued interest in our Coastside Artists.

WHAT IS COCA?

History
Colony of Coastside Artists (CoCA) began in 2010 with a realization that most artists work in isolation and rarely share their work with others unless they sell directly.

Colony of Coastside Artists (CoCA) is a group of like-minded artists who live on the San Mateo County mid-coast from Montara through Half Moon Bay. I started the group in 2010 to encourage artists to share their art in a non-competitive social setting. We met monthly to network, socialize, learn from each other and share ideas. Our group is open to coastside artists of all mediums and levels who would like to join us.

Prior to 2020, we met in people's homes, and encouraged the artists to bring a piece of work and food to share and socialize .

In 2020, our group discontinued meeting in person and did some online meetings instead. We plan to meet again in person, but as of now, no date has been set.

For those who are interested, we also do an annual Open Studios, which has grown in popularity both in participants and patrons.

Visit our Contact page if you are interested in becoming a member, or joining our mailing list.

“CoCA is a group of talented, committed, and friendly artists who get together to share their creative experiences.”

“Moving to the coast has been a wonderful experience, but joining CoCA has made it feel like I’ve come home.”

“CoCA is a group of talented and passionate Coastside artists who welcome and mentor fellow artists at all stages of their artistic path.”
